WHAT IS POTLUCK CLUB?
Potluck Club is new endeavor from the GWCSA for members to get to know each other, greet our neighbors, eat delicious CSA food, swap recipes and have a great time!
Potluck Club will feature themed potluck dinner parties, hosted by CSA Members welcoming other CSA Members and families and friends into their homes or other venues. Don’t miss a chance to meet other members of the CSA, and share your love of CSA cooking (or eating!) while supporting a closer-knit community!
HOW CAN I GET IN ON POTLUCK CLUB?
You can host or be a guest at a potluck. The host will determine the date, amount of guests they can accommodate, location, and a theme for the potluck (see below for some theme ideas). The CSA will take care of invites, organizing your guest list and the dishes they should bring. To be a guest all you have to do is RSVP and show up with delicious food!
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY “THEMED” POTLUCKS?
A theme can help bring like-minded CSA folks together and can be a great icebreaker! If you’d like to host a potluck a theme is not necessary but can help set the mood. Here are some potluck theme ideas, be creative!- No utensils need potluck (finger foods)- Vegan potluck- Singles potluck- Picnic Potluck, meet at the park! Bring a frisbee!- Literary potluck (ex. green eggs and ham OR a movable feast)- Comfort foods potluck- Death row dinner (what you would eat if it was your last meal)- Foods you hated when you were little but love now potluck
WHAT NEXT?
If you are interested in hosting or attending one of the potlucks, please send an email to potluck@greenpoint-williamsburgcsa.org , with the subject heading “potluck host” or “potluck guest”, whichever you are interested in. If you are planning on hosting please email date and time you’d like to host, how many people you would like to attend, the location (your home or local venue, park, etc), if you have an idea for a theme (you don’t have to have a theme), and what your guests should bring. If you are interested in attending a potluck please let us know which one and if there are still spots available we will send a confirmation with a location.
